Recognition

For nearly a century, our speech and debate honor society has recognized young people for participation in interscholastic as well as community speaking endeavors. In most parts of the country, there are local opportunities to participate several times a month during the school year, as well as district tournaments that offer the opportunity to qualify for our championship National Tournament.
The structure of our honor society is based upon this framework of recognition through points awarded for each presentation or debate. To learn more about this, and other student awards, click “Student Recognition” in the menu to the left. Awards for coaches and students are based upon accumulated student successes, and information is available about that, too.
The National Forensic League works tirelessly to recognize both breadth and longevity of participation as well as depth and degree of success, through our honor society, related awards, press releases, and letters to school administrators and other key decision makers. This recognition rewards a commitment to educational endeavors in speech and debate, and we are happy to help schools demonstrate the fruits of their involvement.
