Definition debate comes up fairly frequently in LD and Policy, and occasionally in PF, and "Theory" arguments have become more and more prevalent in LD. This seminar will distill all of these arguments down to their four components and teach you how to identify, understand, and defeat them. It will also cover the best ways to construct such arguments yourself and give you some guidelines for when to deploy them.

Fast delivery creates major problems for many debaters and can effectively shut them out of some rounds if they don't learn to cope with it. This webinar is designed to provide students with techniques to understand fast delivery, effectively take notes on it, and deploy strategies to beat fast speakers without speaking quickly themselves. This seminar is appropriate for LD, PF and Policy Debate.

Each speech in PF has specific opportunities and challenges it presents. This seminar will present strategies that enable debaters to maximize their advantages in each speech. It will also discuss issues of coverage, such as how to deal with speed.

Building a good opening case is somewhat easy to learn but very difficult to master. This seminar will focus on how to construct an effective opening case, both strategically and rhetorically. It will also discuss how best to deploy that case later in the round. This seminar is geared toward PF, though many of the concepts are applicable to LD and Policy as well.
