Honor Society

The National Forensic League is the nation’s oldest and largest forensic honor society, and is widely regarded as the highest standard of excellence in secondary school speech and debate. With membership in the League, any high school student, middle school student, and coach is eligible to achieve standing in the National Forensic League’s honor society.

Students participate and achieve advanced standing within the honor society by earning points through speech and debate competition, as well as community speaking engagements. Coaches earn a percentage of the points earned by their students. Details on how points are earned vary depending on whether one is associated with a high school or middle school program.

In addition to achieving points for participation, our honor society sets the standard for how our students and coaches should conduct themselves while participating in the activity. The League’s Code of Honor, adopted in 2007, outlines the expectation for this standard for coaches and students, as well as League staff and our leadership.
