Volunteer Coaching

Fewer than one-third of US high schools have speech and debate programs, even fewer middle schools do. If you are an alumnus, parent, or simply a fan, now is the time to start a program at your school and the League can help! In our Online Learning Center, we offer training materials for new coaches as well as resources to advocating your program to the administration. Volunteer Judging

The activity of speech and debate could not survive without thousands of supporters who provide students with educational feedback and constructive criticism. For alumni, this is a natural fit and an easy way to give back. Contact your alma mater or a district chair person in your area to get started. For supporters who don't have speech and debate backgrounds, the League can help! Support Speech and Debate Programs

Like many co-curricular activities, speech and debate programs are under fire in all parts of the country. Your financial support and advocacy of local programs is critical to provide speech and debate opportunities to every student in every school. The National Forensic League provides advocacy tools as well as templates for letters to the editor to express your support.
